Arun S. Nair is an economic policy correspondent with a law background, having over 15 years of work experience. He has participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program—the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program—on the U.S. Trade Policy and the International Monetary Fund’s 2014-15 Journalism Fellowship Program. Nair has reported from the United States (IMF/World Bank Group Annual Meetings), Switzerland (WTO’s Doha Round ministerial negotiations in Geneva), Belgium (India-European Union free trade agreement negotiations), Hong Kong, Oman, Turkey, Kenya and Nigeria on world trade and India’s trade and investment ties. Nair covered the Fourth BRICS Summit and the Asian Development Bank’s Annual Meeting in New Delhi. He has attended the Reserve Bank of India’s Workshops for Media Persons as well as the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade’s Workshop Training on WTO and Regional Trade Agreements. Prior to his journalism career Nair was an attorney at law. He was a junior advocate at the Law Office of Senior Advocate (former Solicitor General of India) Mohan Parasaran in Chennai, India. He is also a Certified Corporate Director—Institute of Directors. Nair’s interests include traveling and long-distance running.
