Diplomatic Courier Provides Top Coverage of G20 in Los Cabos

Los Cabos, Mexico: Continuing the progress of the NATO Summit in Chicago and the G8 Summit in Camp David last month, the Diplomatic Courier is in attendance at the B20/G20 Summits in Los Cabos, Mexico now as the world leaders strive for an improved global economy.

A key non-government participant, Diplomatic Courier's Editor-in-Chief Ana C. Rold provides special commentary on key issues being debated.

China: "The Diplomatic Courier was encouraged by Chinese President Hu Jintao's remarks on Sunday calling for increased involvement by developing nations in economic governance and more development in Africa. Provided development in Africa is sustainable and to the benefit of the host country as well, the Diplomatic Courier looks forward to hearing more about the idea of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

In our forthcoming edition ‘Africa: The Last Emerging Market,' there will be a balanced piece on Chinese and international involvement in the continent by Dana M. Hughes, ABC News Digital Reporter covering the State Department and Foreign Affairs, and Kathryn H. Floyd, Department of Government, College of William and Mary, while Dr. Scott Firsing, International Studies Lecturer, Monash South Africa, previously contributed ‘Africa's Leading Ladies' and how they guide their nations. Also of interest is ‘Storm Clouds on the Horizon: Possible New Cold War with China' by Paul Nash, China Correspondent, Diplomatic Courier."

Greece: "B B20 and G20 participants breathed an initial sigh of relief upon hearing the news that the New Democracy party won the national elections in Greece. With this pro-bailout government, we hope that Greece will stay a member of the euro while also encouraging Italy and Spain to stabilize their economies. We were heartened by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's announcement of a $10 billion contribution to the International Monetary Fund's $430 billion to assist the struggling nations in the eurozone.

Timely in May, ‘Greek Entrepreneurs to the Rescue: How to Reinvent the Greek Economy After the Sovereign Debt Crisis' by Nasos Mihalakas, Contributor, Diplomatic Courier, forecast several sideline conversations that have been occurring over the past few days. In our March/April edition, we featured ‘Lessons from Latvia's Economic Recovery' by Steve Lutes, Director of the Corporate Leadership Advisory Council, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Senior Contributor, Diplomatic Courier, that has many gems of use to other nations."

Russia: "We are optimistic that U.S. President Barack Obama's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was productive on Monday, encouraging long term cooperation and the cessation of fighting in Syria. As the situation in Syria continues to escalate and questions over the killing of civilians mount, we urge all world leaders to press for the peaceful resolution of this conflict.

The past edition of the Diplomatic Courier debated several aspects of balance of power politics, including ‘Russia's Nuclear Legacy' by Richard Rousseau, Senior Contributing Editor, Diplomatic Courier and Professor at the Diplomatic Academy in Baku, Azerbaijan."

Hunger and Growth: "While international food aid is laudable, it is a poor substitute for educational programs that teach a community how to feed itself for many years. It is the Diplomatic Courier's hope that conversations about hunger and food at the G20 will identify long-term government and private solutions to agriculture challenges.

We are delighted to announce that the cover story of ‘Africa: The Last Emerging Market' is ‘The Five Trends for Growth in Africa' by J. Peter Pham, Director of the Michael S. Ansari Africa Center, Atlantic Council. In addition, this next edition will publish ‘Nobody is Poor,' an article by Saul Garlick, CEO of ThinkImpact, addressing ways in which the continent leverages its resources and strengths to lift itself out of poverty."

In addition to timely articles, each edition of the Diplomatic Courier features interviews with Ambassadors, photo exhibits by established and up-and-coming photographers, and profiles of global political personalities.
