Shivani Tanil Somaiya has previously worked at the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), UK Houses of Parliament, and Anti-Slavery International. She is currently pursuing an MA in International Relations at New York University, where she specializes in International Security and Middle Eastern affairs. Her research currently includes a close examination of the petrodollar recycling system and its implications on US national interests and foreign policy in the Middle East and North Africa region. Other areas of study include the Arab-Israeli conflict, the Syrian refugee crisis, and Oil and Gas markets.
