Digital Diplomacy Forum Debates Social Media's Role in Policy

Washington, DC: Reaching more than 370,000 Twitter followers (#DiplomacySM) among the various attendees, the Diplomatic Courier launched the inaugural Digital Diplomacy Forum today at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Join the continued conversation via Twitter, Google+, YouTube, and Facebook.

Ana C. Rold, Editor-in-Chief of the Diplomatic Courier, comments: "Yesterday's Forum demonstrated the unique power of social media for individuals. Whether you are speaking out against a clothing company with discriminatory views or demanding action against Joseph Kony, each and every person can change the world in some way. Indeed, our conversation extended far beyond the Rotunda room on Freedom Plaza as #DiplomacySM trended."

Included in the conversation were over 100 individuals representing foreign governments, the corporate sector, media, universities, and more. The packed room discussed and debated how diplomacy is influenced, driven, and impacted by social media with these distinguished speakers and corresponding tweets:
