Surya Kant, President, North America, UK & Europe at Tata Consultancy Services, sat for an interview with the Diplomatic Courier at "Talent Mobility & the Future of Jobs: The World in 2050".

[Diplomatic Courier:] What are some differences between India and China in terms of approach to developing highly skilled workers?

[Surya Kant:] I can speak a lot more about India. We always, as a company at TCS, look for people from the best education institutions with the best attainment of education, because in a way that gives you a very good platform on which to build further skills, like teamwork and excellence and these sorts of things. There are a number of companies in India which are doing that. India has been in contact with the west and with other parts of the world a lot more often. As a result of the touch that India has had, I would say the proficiency in the English language, and also the openness that Indians have shown to adapt to values, ideas. I would say that has worked very well. It has been a very good enabler for India.
