The UK’s Prince Harry joined Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday May 2nd to promote the third Invictus Games. The Invictus games, which started in 2014, spotlight the sacrifices made by men and women who have been physically or mentally wounded while serving their countries, and at the same time demonstrate their indomitable will to overcome life-altering challenges. The games aim to harness the power of sport to “aid in the holistic healing throughout the recovery and rehabilitation process: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically and socially. “The 2014 Games were just the beginning of the Invictus story,” said Prince Harry. “The competitors showed grit, determination and humor: an absolute refusal to be beaten or be defined by their injuries – the Invictus spirit was born. I can’t wait to see the American public supporting these inspirational men and women at the next game,” he added. The George W. Bush Institute will conduct an international symposium to discuss solutions aimed at helping returning servicemen and women improve outcomes for their transition back to civilian life.   President Bush will also serve as honorary chair for the 2016 Invivtus Games 2016.
