Ghida Fakhry is a broadcast journalist with 25 years’ experience in international news. She is the host/managing editor of TRT World’s flagship political program from Washington DC. She is also the Moderator of the live Doha Debates, focusing on some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Previously, Ghida was a lead anchor for Aljazeera English in Washington DC. She presented the network’s Newshour and the award-winning program Witness. Throughout her career, she has reported extensively from the United Nations and on-location, conducting in-depth interviews with Heads of State/Government and senior U.S. and international officials. As Contributor to the Huffington Post, she has written about U.S. foreign policy, the United Nations, and international affairs.
Ghida moderates high-level panels around the world for the UN, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, and leading NGOs, facilitating in-depth and dynamic discussions on international affairs, human rights, women’s empowerment, climate change, and other global issues.
Ghida is a graduate of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She holds and MA degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies and MA degree in International Relations. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic and is conversational in Spanish.
